How Edu4u Turned Curious Students Into Enrolments With Email

8.4x return on email revenue

The client

Edu4u is a student-recruitment startup that connects international students with universities. Interest was never the problem. Prospective students found Edu4u, browsed, asked a question or two, and then went quiet. Most never came back.

The challenge

A prospective student rarely decides on the first visit. Choosing where to study is a months-long decision, full of doubts and comparisons. Edu4u had no way to stay in that conversation, so all that early interest leaked away while the team kept chasing new traffic.

What I did

I built the lifecycle email system that kept Edu4u in the room.

I mapped the real student journey, from first curiosity to application, and built automated flows for each stage: a welcome sequence that set expectations, nurture emails that answered the questions students actually agonise over, and timely nudges as deadlines approached.

I segmented by country and course interest so the message always felt personal, and tied everything back to enrolments so we knew which emails earned their place.

The results

Email went from an afterthought to Edu4u’s most profitable channel.

  • Every $1 spent on email returned $8.40 in enrolment revenue.
  • Annual revenue grew from £22,000 to over £240,000 as more interest converted.
  • Student sign-ups climbed from 14 a year to more than 80.

Email turned prospective students into enrolments while we slept. It changed the shape of the business.

The traffic was already arriving. We just stopped letting it walk away.
